

Louis A. Lux, 66, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in San Angelo. The Rosary will be 4:00 P.M., Monday, September 19, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Abel Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Luois was born August 20, 1945 in Canton, Ohio to Louis H. and Mildred Espenschied Lux. After graduating from Ohio State University, a member of the Air Force ROTC, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years where he achieved the rank of Major. His tour in the Air Force took him to Langley AFB, Virginia, Phu Cat AB, Vietnam, Carswell AFB, TX, Sembach AB, Germany, MAJCOM Inspection Unit, Colorado Springs where he met and married Pollie. From there they were united in assignments to Montgomery, AL, Ramstein AB, Germany and Goodfellow AFB, TX where he retired in 1988. Lou and Pollie have resided in San Angelo, TX since his retirement. He married Frances “Pollie” Jones on November 28, 1975 and they shared 35 beautiful years of marriage together. They were each other’s best friends. After retirement he attended Angelo State University where he received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Louis went on to become a professor at Howard College for the past 20 years. He retired in May 2011. His primary goal was to help the younger generation achieve excellence in their lifetime. Louis was an avid golfer and he loved to regale people with his famous golf stories. His other hobbies were photography, hiking, fishing and traveling. Louis was preceded in death by his parents and one Brother Tim Lux. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Frances “Pollie” Lux, of San Angelo; his son, Lt.Col. Barton S. Lux and his wife Laura, of Las Vegas, NV; his very special grandchildren, Jason M. Lux and Amanda Robyn Lux, both of Las Vegas, NV; his Mother-in-law, Marie Jones, of Jonesboro, AR; his sister’s-in-law and their spouse, Bunny and Al Betag, Anna and Tom Maiorana and Patsy Armstrong; his Brother’s -in-law and their spouse, Robert and Connie Jones and Rick and Carol Jones; all of his very special friends at San Angelo Country Club; all of his Howard College “family”; Kiwanis; and all of his friends from the Nursing Department at Angelo State University. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Justin Callan Scholarship at Howard College. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Shannon Medical Center, Hospice and the House of Hope for their loving care.
