

Lucille Kelley passed away on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in Rotary House of Hope Baptist Retirement Community in San Angelo, Texas. Lucille was born Nov. 23, 1921, to Albert Ross Kelley and Ida Pinkard Kelley near Brownwood, Texas. Her family moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1924, from Zephyr, Texas. Lucille graduated from San Angelo High School. She received her Bachelor of Education degree from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, and her Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. She spent 27 years as a classroom teacher and seventeen years as a guidance counselor. She touched the lives of many young people during her 44 years as a public school educator. Lucille was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the San Angelo Retired Teachers Association. She loved to travel and took many trips with her two older sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and their husbands, Lorene and Tuck Henson and Hazell and Joel Lamb; and a niece, Deanie Henson. She is survived by three nephews: Harold Henson and wife Martha of San Angelo, Texas, Bob Henson and wife Valerie of Beggs, Okla. and L.T. Williams and wife Betty of Ada, Okla. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews: Terrye Henson Bowling, Kim Henson White, Steve Williams, Malinda Williams Choate, Kyle Williams, Clif Lewis and Jean Ann Owens. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with burial in Fairmount Cemetery with Kevin McSpadden, Chaplain at Baptist Memorial Retirement Community officiating.
