

Marie Tinsley Goodwin, 79, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 in San Angelo. She was born to William Alvis Tinsley and Willie Ophelia Kelly Tinsley in Kennard, Texas on July 30, 1937. Her childhood was spent in Junction, Texas. Mrs. Goodwin lived in San Angelo for over thirty years, where she worked for Bealls and Dillards department stores for many years until her retirement in 1998. She was recognized many times for her work ethic and salesmanship. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, and activities with family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother. She adored spending time spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. Goodwin was an excellent cook and was known for her holiday meals and desserts. She had a funny sense of humor and would laugh until she cried. She was also a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-two years, Bobby Goodwin; two daughters, Billie(Dewayne) Osborne of Waxahachie, Brenda(Tad) Lynch of Houston; one son, James Bruce of Junction; one stepdaughter, Lynn Goodwin of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Hellekson of New Mexico; two brothers, Hardy Tinsley and Sam Tinsley both of Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a time of visitation at Johnson’s Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Johnson's Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bruce Burk officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo.
