

San Angelo – Marjorie Faye Banister Stuard passed away June 22, 2011 afer a short illness.
Marjorie was born November 25, 1921 to Ida and S F Morrow in Runnels Co, near Ballinger. She was raised on the family cotton farm near Veribest and graduated from Veribest High School. After moving to San Angelo she graduated from San Angelo Business College in 1941, starting a career as a supply clerk at Concho Army Air Force Field (Mathis Field). In 1945, she was transferred to Goodfellow AFB and on February 10th of that year, married Army Staff Sgt Quentin R Banister, Sr. She then worked as a receptionist for Dr Arledge for several years before becoming a homemaker and raising three children. In 1960, Marjorie and Quentin founded Banister Plumbing & Heating Co.
In 1963, started work at USDA ASCS office of Tom Greene Co where she was a longtime employee and subsequently retired as Chief Clerk in 1983.
After being a widow for 10 years, she married Harrell Stuard and moved to Buffalo, Texas. They built their retirement home and were enjoying retirement until a fire destroyed their new home in 1998. They then moved back to San Angelo to be near friends and family where she currently lived.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, two brothers, Sam and Howard Morrow and one sister, Esther Byrd. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family; one sister, Billie Lee; one brother, Gene Morrow; two sons, Quentin R Banister, Jr , Vernon Morrow Banister; one daughter, Deborah G Wilson; three grandchildren, Quentin Wade Banister, Deidra Chantel Banister, and Jaime Faye Taylor ; 4 great grandchildren and one on the way .
The family would like to thank the staff at Shannon Hospital for the care given her. Special thanks go to the staff of Baptist Memorial Division 5 and Baptist Hospice for care given to our Mother.
Visitation is from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday June 24, 2011, at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 2 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Mullins Cemetery with The Rev. Ben G Hubert officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Jackson Morrow, Danny Byrd, Jerry Arthur, J.D. Gould, Jack Byrd, Jimmie Machann.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Texas Boys Ranch.
