Marolyn Laverne Christian

Marolyn LaVerne Christian, 77, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in San Angelo. The Memorial Service will be 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Royal Estates, 6101 Grand Court Road, San Angelo, TX., 76901. LaVerne was born January 19, 1933 in Oklahoma City, OK. to Sherman L. and Mary Ann Ball Christian. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for decades. LaVerne lived in Dallas most of her life. Here in San Angelo, she thoroughly enjoyed her Sunday School Class and all her friends at College Hills Baptist Church. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman L. Christian and Mary Ann Christian, her sister, LaVonne Christian Barber and her precious dog “Harley.” She is survived by three nieces, Susan (Barber) Arnold and her husband Dr. Morgan Arnold, of Houston, TX, Bunny (Barber) Miles and her husband James F. Miles, of Dallas, TX. and Theronne (Barber) Angelich and her husband Alan M. Angelich, of Denver, CO; one nephew, Cris Barber and his wife, Carmen, of Sterling City, TX; one brother-in-law, Horace Barber, of San Angelo; eight great nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Jean McSwain and Mary Lou Fuller. LaVerne will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
