

Morris was born January 20, 1925 in Winters, Texas to Alneer and Bessie McFadden. During his childhood, he and his family lived in San Angelo, Ballinger, Abilene and Mineral Wells. He graduated high school in Mineral Wells, Texas and immediately joined the U.S. Navy in service to his country. Morris served in both World War II and the Korean War a total of just over 7 years in the United States Navy. During this time he also attended Abilene Christian University and was only hours away from a coaching degree.
Morris married the love of his life, Beverly Stockard, "the bluest eyes in Texas", in Abilene, March 22, 1952. They were married 57 years. He and his brother, "Mac," worked as painting contractors in Abilene for several years until Morris joined Dean Hagler Commercial Painting, for which he worked almost 20 years. He retired to form his own company, Classic Painting and Wallcover, and worked into his 70's. He was very active in his church and community. Morris was an elder of West Angelo Church of Christ for almost 40 years. He was a certified Chaplain. Morris served on several boards including, The John Abraham Christian Relief Board, The Southwest Bible Institute Board, and The Ukrainian Mission Board. He made several mission trips locally to Mexico and Honduras, and multiple overseas trips to India and The Ukraine. Morris enjoyed singing and was in several Barbershop and Gospel quartets. He also frequently preached at Churches of Christ in San Angelo and surrounding communities. Morris and Beverly were faithful members of West Angelo Church of Christ for over 40 years.
Morris McFadden was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Stockard McFadden, his parents, Alneer and Bessie McFadden of Abilene, his three sisters, Hilda and Virginia of Abilene, and Janelle Burk of Snyder, his older brother "Mac" McFadden of Abilene, and an infant son, Stephen Lynn. Morris is survived by a younger brother Guy McFadden and wife, Joyce, of Abilene; a son, Lynn McFadden and his wife, Jodine, of San Angelo, and children, Haley Norris and husband Gabe of Katy, also Leah and Marshall McFadden of San Angelo; a daughter Marlinda Schmickle, and her husband Fred of San Angelo, and children, Fred Schmickle and wife Sun of Ventura, California; Bethany, and Sky Schmickle of San Angelo; a son, Mark McFadden, and his wife Inga and their daughter, Mackenzie, of Hawaii, and children, Tanner McFadden and his wife Allison of Dripping Springs, Zena Vaughn and husband Chris of Pflugerville, Crystal McFadden of Corpus Christi, and Tyler McFadden of Round Rock. Morris is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Gage, Ryenn, and Brie, of Katy, Mia of Ventura, California, and Chase Morris McFadden of Dripping Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sister and brothers-in-law.
Paw-paw loved family gatherings and time with his wife, children, grandchildren, in-laws and such and was often heard telling Mee Mar, "Honey, did we start all this?" The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowcreek Nursing Center for their excellent, compassionate care of our Paw-paw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Relief Fund, P. Services will be at West Angelo Church of Christ, 3200 San Antonio St. conducted by Portis Ribble, Van Pendergrass, and Roland McClean, Saturday, July 2 at 11am.
