

Nell Carmen Harper, the wife of Billy Ray Harper, passed away August the 10th 2013, in the midst of her family. Funeral Service to be 2:00 pm Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Hunnicutt officiating with private family graveside to follow later that day. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Mrs. Harper was born January the 22nd 1933 to Charles Roy Wilkins, and Rachel Johnson Wilkins. She graduated from Goldthwaite High School in 1950 later attending Southwestern University where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, before leaving to marry the love of her life, Billy Ray Harper. They immediately moved to Norfolk Virginia, where they spent the first four years of their married life together, while Billy Ray served in the United States Navy. Mother dearly loved their time there. Later she graduated from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education where she pursued her teaching career at Belaire Elementary School, teaching second grade there for 22 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and a member of PEO. She enjoyed playing golf with the girls at San Angelo Country Club for many years, and keeping her yard and flower gardens immaculate. She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Harper, her daughter Gay Harper Schulze, and Husband Trey, her two sons Ray Harper, and wife Delilah, Jeff Harper, and wife Cindy. Her grandchildren Dr. Victor E Schulze IV, and wife Destani, Elizabeth Edwards, and husband Ray, Zachary Schulze, Will Harper, and wife Kymberli, Hallee Harper, Mattie Harper, J.D. Harper, and wife Ashley, and Cristin Harper, and her great grandchild Christine Edwards all of San Angelo. Her brother Charles Roy Wilkins, and wife Ann of Holly Lake Ranch, and her sister Marsha Grove PhD. of Austin, and many other loving family members, and a host of friends.
