

Raynaldo R Rangel Sr., a beloved resident of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on September 1, 1957, Raynaldo was a cherished and devoted individual known for his generous, hard-working, and honest nature. Also known by his Native American name, Wii-Champii, he was incredibly proud of his heritage. His humor, kindness, patience, and resilience left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Raynaldo was selfless, thoughtful, and wise, always offering his time and compassion to others.
At the young age of 13, Raynaldo began his career in construction, working in cabinetry at Moya's Cabinet Shop. As a young man, he spent 13 years as a truck driver before owning a construction business for six years. The last 29 years of his career were dedicated to teaching construction, a role he held until his retirement. His contributions to the field were recognized with a lifetime achievement award from TIVA, a state competition organization, in 2025.
Raynaldo was the life partner of Martha Mirelez for 10 years. He was a loving father to his sons, Ray Rangel Jr. (Daisy Rangel), Rafael Rangel (Stephanie Ybarra), Robert Rangel (Clarissa Alvarado), and Randy Rangel (Cassandra Rangel). He was also a devoted bonus father to Desiree Garcia (Teofilo Jr.). His legacy lives on through his 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Rangel Sr. and his granddaughter, Alex Rangel.
Raynaldo had a passion for helping others, loved to barbecue, and enjoyed old music. He respected everyone and showed compassion to all, often saying, "I don't have much to give; but I can give you my time."
The family extends their gratitude to the friends and family who provided support in his final hours. A heartfelt thank you is expressed for Raynaldo's guidance, wisdom, patience, and strength, which will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home, located at 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903, on February 25, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by the Rosary from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Lake View Bible Church, 4825 Grape Creek Rd, San Angelo, TX 76903, on February 26, 2026, at 10:00 am. The Committal Service will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, 1120 W Ave N, San Angelo, TX 76901.
Pallbearers will include Antonio Rangel, Xavier Rangel, Santos Rangel, Joshua Rangel, Carlos Rangel, Nikolaus Villarreal, Edward Garcia, and John Paul Rangel.
