Rex David McAnear

Rex David McAnear of San Angelo, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was born on April 14, 1963 in Olney, TX to Edward and Lanell McAnear. Rex attended Permian High School and later obtained his GED. He worked for himself as a truck driver as well as working in oil and gas, he then went to work for Select Energy as a Truck Supervisor. Rex married Keila Campbell on September 21, 1991 and had 3 children. Anyone who knew Rex, knew he had a passion for his family, especially his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his humor, bbq and compassion. Rex was preceded in death by his mother Cleo Lanell, his father Edward Newton and his sister Robyn McAnear. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Keila McAnear, his siblings Richard McAnear, Revis McAnear, Michael McAnear and Amanda McAnear, his children Jordan Henderson, Bryson McAnear and Dalton McAnear and his grandchildren Keitan King, Madlyn King, Peytan Henderson, Jaden McAnear, Jaxson McAnear, Jayde McAnear, Jessa McAnear and Brooklynn McAnear. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A celebration of Rex’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the chapel of Johnson’s Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be his sons, brothers and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a memorial donation to T2T.org (Tunnels to Towers).
