

Richard “Ricky” Wayne Goins, 46, passed with peace and grace, August 30, surrounded by his family, after battling Cancer and Liver Disease. He was born in 1968 in La Marque, Texas to Ruddy Goins and Cathy Johnson. Ricky graduated from Christoval High School in 1987.
He went to Taxidermy school, but currently worked for Pepsico for 20 years. Ricky began his career with Pepsi as a Delivery Driver in March of 1995. He quickly progressed into Sales and then transferred to Austin as a Delivery Supervisor. Ricky led the entire Austin Delivery Team for several years and trained numerous current employees. He was promoted into the Food Service area in Austin where Ricky really stood out as a Food Service Sales Expert. His desire to get back to West Texas led him to the Abilene and San Angelo area where he covered, by himself, the entire West Texas Region that was recently acquired. As a Business Development Rep – Ricky landed over a hundred restaurants, four Colleges and numerous hospitals! For two years, Ricky dominated the competition and paved the way for the four Food Service Employees that his work fostered! Ricky was a mentor to many, and will truly be missed by all.
He loved the great outdoors, Fishing and Hunting, and spoke big dreams for his biggest life achievement, his daughter, Elliana. He was a big fan of The Pittsburgh Steelers, loved spending time with his family, and telling outrageous stories.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Eunice; daughter, Elliana, and Step-son, Gabriel Basquez; Parents, Ruddy Goins, (Jeanette Shaw), and Cathy Johnson (Tony Johnson); Sister, Becky Riojas and husband Roy Riojas; niece, Monica Riojas, and nephew Tomas Riojas; paternal grandmother, Wilma Goins; and his cousin, considered a brother, Jeff Carter. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Homer and Pat Jones, paternal grandfather, Rudolph Goins; and his Uncle, Ronny Goins.
Ricky’s family wishes to thank Dr. Jacqueline O’Leary and staff at Liver Consultants of Texas in Dallas, Texas; Dr. Anton Melnyk at Texas Oncology in Abilene, Texas; Dr. Stephen Coates of San Angelo, Texas, and the Hospice of San Angelo staff, for their attention and treatment during Ricky’s illness.
