Bob Kinsley was born April 18, 1929, in San Angelo, Texas to William Edward Kinsley and Mary Viola Blair Kinsley. He lived in Sterling City, Pecos, and Mentone before his family settled in San Angelo. He attended school at Sacred Heart, San Jacinto, Lake View Jr. High and Lake View High School where he was known as Blackie. He left high school to join the Army in 1947 and served until 1950. He got his GED in 1948. After his stint int he Army he attended San Angelo College(ASU) where he met his wife, Louise Beard. He transferred to Texas A & I to finish his degree but got hurt in a rodeo and left before the semester was over. In 1953 he joined the Navy and served proudly for 17 years. In April of 1954 he married the love of his life, Louise Beard. He made 2 cruises on the Kersarge in the Pacific. He also made cruises on the carrier Randolph, Shangri La, and the Saratoga to the Mediterranean. After retiring from the Navy he returned to San Angelo and went to work for MHMR at Carlsbad, Texas, in a job he really enjoyed doing. In 1992 he retired. After Louise retired they traveled in their motor home going to see family and friends.
He enjoyed all of his children’s events in school and later enjoyed watching his grandkids sporting events. He never missed any of their games. He was very outspoken and more than once was asked to leave the gym.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Louise Kinsley; his brothers and sisters-in-law Laddie Kinsley, Eddie Kinsley (Vivian), Buddy Kinsley (Peggy), Dan Kinsley (Emilia), and Johnny Kinsley (Teresa); and sister and brother-in-law Betty Berry (Connie).
HIs is survived by his wife Louise Kinsley; daughter Carolyn Tipton (Dana); son Bobby Kinsley. Grandchildren - Christopher Tipton (Lesli), Thomas Tipton (Sunni), Lydia Tavares (Victor), Nicholas Chavez, and Adrianna Lozano. Eight Great Grandchildren - Kinsley, Kooper, Kamden, Cason, Levi, Victoria, Lucille, and Vicenzio. Sisters-in-law - Sarah Craig and Margaret Kinsley. One cousin, Billy Blair. Many nieces and nephews. Very special extended family Earl and Shevette Miles and Vicki Bell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Interment will be at Concho Cemetery, Concho Texas.
