Rodolfo was born to Nabor Villarreal and Francisca Calzonsin on March 20, 1946 in Jiménez, Coahuila, Mexico. He met his beloved wife, Maria Esther, in 1961 when they were both 15 years old. While dating, Rodolfo and Maria Esther would often go to dances and concerts together. After 3 years of dating, Rodolfo and Maria Esther married in December of 1964. Soon after in January of 1965, Rodolfo enlisted in the Mexican Army and served for a year. He and Maria Esther built a beautiful and simple life with their children in Ciudad Acuña. Rodolfo owned a water distribution company and truck, transporting water all around Acuña and to neighboring towns. He took great pride raising his children to be hardworking and knowing unconditional love. He ultimately moved his family to the United States, and created a home and life in San Angelo, Texas where he worked in construction and lived until the time of his death. For 57 years, Rodolfo and Maria exemplified true love and companionship to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
To Rodolfo, family was everything and he loved them fiercely. His joy came in the everyday moments of life when surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He believed in unity and respect and wanted his legacy to be evident in the love that his family had for each other. He could oftentimes be found singing and dancing, spending time outside with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and always telling jokes and stories. He was the center of attention at family gatherings, sharing many laughs and making memories with his loved ones. There was not one family gathering where Rodolfo did not sing songs of his favorite musicians such as Vicente Fernández and Los Cadetes de Linares. He passed this love for music to his family and often enjoyed singing with his daughters.
Rodolfo is survived by his wife, Maria Esther, brothers and sisters, Guadalupe, Gustavo, Efrain, Cecilia, Irma, Ana Lilia, Carmen, and Silvia, his children and their spouses, Francisco and Graciela Villarreal, Rudy Villarreal and Griselda Morales, Rosa and Frank Carrillo, Estela and Miguel Villanueva, Jonas Villarreal, Martha Rivera and Jason Gamez, and Jorge and Melanie Villarreal, and his 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
