Russell "Rusty" Wayne Downs

Russell Wayne Downs was born February 17, 1958 in Midland, Texas to Frederick Newton Downs. He was raised in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School in 1977. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ruffin Wilkins on November 23, 1977. Rusty was known for his love of the outdoors and his huge heart. Rusty was a proud member of the Robert Lee Masons, The Knights Templar, The San Angelo Saddle Club and the NRA. Rusty spent his life teaching children of all ages gun safety, archery, hunting and horsemanship. He is survived by his wife, Libby Downs, his children Charles Spencer (Kimberly) of Temple, Rachel Bollier (Clint) of Odessa, Kimberly Robertson (Charles) of San Angelo, Anthony Richardson (Ashley) of Brady, Jason Richardson (Mary) of Grape Creek and Janelle of Grape Creek; his grandchildren Mycah Crawford (Michael) of San Angelo, Justin Wallace (Brennan) of Lubbock, Chris Allgeier (Janette) of Austin, Ashley Essler (Thomas) of Temple, Tyler Wallace of San Angelo, Charlene Rodriguez (Jason) of San Angelo, Megan Allgeier of Dallas, Aliyah Washington of Temple, Summer Richardson, Christian Richardson of Brady, Mackenzie Robertson of San Angelo, Julie Richardson of Grape Creek, Lena Richardson of Brady and Oakley Robertson of San Angelo. He also leaves behind 8 great grandchildren. Rusty was a father to all and was loved dearly by anyone who knew him.
