June 14th 2022 Ruth King was welcomed into her heavenly home. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born on January 21st 1927 to Dewey Higgins and Lillie Berry Higgins in Blanchard Oklahoma. Ruth leaves behind one son Ronnie King and wife Janet of San Angelo and Daughter Karen Moore of San Angelo, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and her beloved four-legged friend Ginger. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 54 years Howard King, Mother Lillie Higgins, Daughter Patricia Herode, Grandson Brent Sullivan, Brother Jack Higgins, Sister Fay Monk, Sister Wanona Gillium and Brother Cleedos Higgins.
Ruth was a kind and gentle woman. She was a loving mother to her children and a wonderful “nanny” to her grandchildren. All who met her loved her. She loved to be on the go. Her love for food was like no other. From eating out to watching the cooking channel if it had to do with food she was there.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice of San Angelo for the love and care they gave to our mother in the last days of her life.
The family will welcome visitors at Johnsons Funeral Home Thursday June 16th from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Service will be held at Word Of Life Assembly Of God Church 5173 S. Bryant Blvd on Friday June 17th at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David Smith officiating.
