Shirley Louise Bennett

It is with the greatest sadness we announce the passing of Shirley Louise Bennett aged 82 on October 13th, 2022 in Odessa,Texas. Shirley was born to Jim Holland Graham and Amma Elizabeth Graham on July 1st 1940 in the back seat of a 1937 Ford, somewhere between Jonesborough and Gatesville Texas, delivered by her father. She started her life on her own terms and that's the way she lived. Shirley had three girls and sparked a life that still thrives through all of them today. Her devotion for her family was unwavering and fierce. A women who never met a stranger, who’s opinions were as strong as her coffee. Her personality could not be ignored and who’s love was unmatched. She graduated San Angelo Central High school in 1958. She then followed in her mother's footsteps, graduating from cosmetology school. Hairdressing being her chosen profession of 52 years, until the age of 76, she excelled in creating beauty as only she could. Because she was beautiful and loved making others beautiful too! You would come into her shop, have a little gossip & have a lot of laughs. Shirleys Hair Corral was not only her place of business but a place where friends gathered and memories were made. You always felt right at home and when you left, you were always more beautiful inside and out! She left San Angelo and headed for Bastrop. Where she would spend the next 39 years devoted to her family, building her business, making lifelong friends, and meeting & falling in love with Rudy Martinez, the love of her life these past 37 years.

She was preceeded in death by her parents Jim & Amma Graham, 1 sister Sue Jenerrette, 3 brothers Robert Graham, Billy Gene Graham, & Jim Holland Graham Jr. She is survived by the loves of her life, her wonderful loving husband Rudy Martinez, her sweet beautiful baby sister June Beth Bratton (Rodney Bratton), her 3 glorious daughters Susan Spencer (Joe Conner), Shelly Wolfe (Eli Corral) & Shawn Bennett. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Jeffery Adam Meurer Jr., Chelsy Rae Binyon , Serena Jade Tucker, Ashley Nicole Crawford, Skyler Brooke Wolfe, Kaeli Raquel Wolfe, Savannah Lousie Bennett-Berrelleza, Colton Blaze Wolfe. 8 great-grandchildren, 1great great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews, down to great great nieces and nephews. Special Thanks to her three daughters and spouses for loving caring and supporting her until the very end and her granddaughter & husband Ashley & Tyler Guinn whose love, support & selflessness were cherished by her & all those who loved her! Also, a special Thank you to Hospice of Odessa for their wonderful care and support. She was one of the most honest, most direct, most beautiful people in our family!
