
Susan Marilyn King, a compassionate and generous soul, passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on March 2, 1946, Susan was known for her kind-hearted nature and her dedication to her family and community.
Susan graduated from Central High School in 1964 and pursued higher education at Angelo State University and Abilene Christian University. She was a very accomplished artist, a testament to her creative spirit and passion for the arts.
Her career was marked by a commitment to education and social work. Susan taught orchestra for 16 years at San Angelo Independent School District and also in Oklahoma, sharing her love for music with countless students. She further served the community by working for the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a social worker for nine years.
Susan is survived by her sister, Sally King, her brother, Dan King, and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving and caring daughter and sister, known for her devotion to family, particularly in caring for her elderly mother.
In her personal life, Susan enjoyed travel, fishing, archery, and artwork. Her love of animals was evident in her everyday life, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Concho Valley P.A.W.S. or a favorite animal charity, in honor of Susan's enduring love for animals.
