

Tellmo Baker, a brave and compassionate soul, passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 92. A resident of San Angelo, Texas, Tellmo was known for his devoted, faithful, and generous nature. Born on November 29, 1933, he lived a life marked by hard work, honesty, humor, and a kind-hearted spirit.
Tellmo married Patricia Darlene Grimsley on August 8, 1957, a union that exemplified his commitment to love and family. To his wife, he always said, "Together forever and beyond."
At the age of 17, Tellmo joined the Navy, serving as a gunner's mate on the navy destroyer USS Bradford and in the Korean Conflict War. His dedication to his country continued as he left the Navy to join the Air Force, and it was there he trained to be a Firefighter. His military career took him to many locations across the world. After retiring from the military, he dedicated 18 years to serving as a fire inspector at Goodfellow AFB.
Family was central to Tellmo's life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Baker, and their children: Troy Baker (Rita), Amber Baker, and Mark Baker (Barbara). He leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tellmo was preceded in death by his grandsons, Kyle Baker and Colt Baker.
In his personal life, Tellmo cherished spending time with friends and family and was fiercely patriotic.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Shannon Hospital ER, ICU, and 6th floor staff, as well as Interim Hospice and Meadowcreek Nursing Facility, for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home, located at 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903, on February 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm, followed by a committal service at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, TX 76905.
Tellmo Baker will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community. His legacy of kindness and humor will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
