Thomas "Tom" Shaw

Tom was born in Indiana and graduated from High School in Gary, Indiana. He promptly entered the USAF March 1959 and retired in San Angelo 30 June 1979. While stationed in West Berlin, he met his soulmate Evi. They would have been married for 60 years this June. They were almost always together. Going to the Texas coast to fish. Evi was catching the fish and Tom cleaned them and enjoyed eating them also. Some of the happiest times were spent at the coast with their feisty wire haired fox terriers. They were members of two mushroom organizations foraying for’shrooms in East Texas and New Mexico. They enjoyed hiking around Ruidoso NM and especially Big Bend. They had many unforgettable adventures. When they couldn’t hike due to his health issues and Evi’s disability they enjoyed trips to Winstar Casino Hotel. Tom was the last survivor of five siblings. Plans are to have my best friend inurned at the Texas State Cemetery side by side with his brother Bill and sister-in-law Judy, who had to wait quite some time for Tom’s arrival.
