Vivian Virginia Clements was born on November 9, 1919 in Mereta, TX to Rufus and Dora (Malechek) Bennett and passed away on December 27, 2020 at the age of 101 years young. She attended school in Mereta, TX.
Vivian married Edgar Floyd (Duke) Clements in San Angelo, TX on June 15, 1940 and they had two daughters, Margene and Jeanette. They were married 53 years. They were in the grocery store business and farmed at Mereta until 1957. They moved to Carlsbad, TX where they owned the grocery store where she worked beside Floyd every day until they retired. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of the Carlsbad Church of Christ all the years that they lived there.
Vivian is survived by son-in-laws, Charles F. Hale, Sr. of Pontotoc, TX and William Broncy of San Angelo, TX. Grandchildren- Helen & Scott Harvey of Hydro, OK, Susan & Jim O’Briant of Binger, OK, Charles F. Hale Jr. & Sandra of Pontotoc, TX, Ross & Lynn Magill of Bothell, WA, Todd & Trudy Broncy of Houston, TX, and Robert Broncy of San Angelo, TX.
Great-grandchildren-Shanna & Justin Shireman of Yukon, OK, Cody & Breanne Blair of Water Valley, TX, Andrew Magill of Austin, TX, Stephania & Jerry Taylor of Binger, OK, Taylor Magill of Renton, WA, Chris O’Briant of Weatherford, OK and Maci Berry of Mangum, OK.
Great-great-grandchildren-Kalyn & Kallie Shireman, Creed & Joleigh Taylor, Azarae O’Briant, Jace Berry, and Lukin Magill.
Also survived by a special niece and nephew, Debbie and Mitch Freeman and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse Floyd, her daughters Margene and Jeanette and her siblings Lorene Williams, Waldene Savage, and R.L. Bennett.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandson. Charles Hale Jr, Ross Magill, Jim O’Briant, Scott Harvey, Todd Broncy, Robert Broncy, Justin Shireman and Cody Blair.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Senior Care of San Angelo for the wonderful care they gave to our Granny and a special thank you to Marty Bedwell her Hospice nurse with Interim Home Care and Hospice.
