1st Sgt Pomerance was a great man, who made a huge impact on my life. He was truly loved and will be dearly missed. Rest in peace.

1st Sgt. was a tremendous influence in my life and I am grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing him. My life is better because he was such an influential part of it.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. 1sgt Pomerance has had a tremendous impact on my life and I'm sure those of my classmates. This country has lost one of its true patriots.

Every person has a defining moment. That moment in time when we realize for the first time that we are more than our self imposed limitations would allow us to be. Sgt. Pomerance was the person who helped facilitate my moment. I remember him as my JROTC instructor in 1982 at JMHS. We used to have to bring our report cards to him for review. I was standing in front of this desk, feeling fairly proud of my performance. After a quick review of my grades, Sgt. Pomerance looked up at me and said, ?I really expected more from you.? That took me completely by surprise. I thought I had done quite well. Sgt. Pomerance saw more in me than I saw in myself. He taught me that good isn?t good enough and to always strive to do just a little better. Almost 30 years later, I remember that moment as my defining moment. I remember Sgt. Pomerance as the man who drove me to become a success. I have nothing but the greatest of respect for him. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. The world is truly a lesser place without him.

Our condolences, Eileen, to you and the family on the loss of Hank.We enjoyed working with him at Marshall and you at Hobby. He will be sorely missed by the San Antonio community.

I will always remember Harvey & Eileen coming to see me for the first time at Officer Training School Club to arrange a banquet for their beloved cadets. We bonded immediately because of our names, over the years we became friends, a friendship that will always remain with me. My heart goes out to you Eileen in your time of sorrow, be heartened to have had a wonderful man by your side, he was indeed a gentleman.

"Bobby" as he is known to the Tombosky clan was always The warmest person you would meet. In my life I always referred to him as Uncle . This is because my Grandmother Pauline and Nathan let Bob stay with him until he went to the marines. I spent alot of time with him when i visited San Antonio and we would talk alot on the phone. I remember the first time he and Eileen first came to El Paso. They were a good looking couple. To me Bob was a prince of a man and i will truly miss him. Aunt Eileen thanks for all the years you stood at his side. I love you both

It was a joy to know Hank, if only briefly during his physical therapy sessions. A true Marine, he always gave more than 100% and was an inspiration to all in the rehab dept. Our prayers are with you Eileen and your family. Hank was a wonderful man.

Hank was such a happy, jovial guy. Every time he was around at either the Grange meetings or Pershing Lodge 160 
I would hear him call my name....CC 
and I would know who it was without looking... 
I always loved to be around Eileen and 
Hank and have missed seeing them for quite some time now. They were such a 
loving and happy couple. My sympathy goes to Eileen and family as he must have been a great husband and father. I 
felt like he was my friend even though 
I did not know him well. My loss of not 
getting to know them better.

I first met 1st Sgt Pomerance in 1994. For the next four years he was a mentor and a friend. I am man I am today because of his influence. He was truly one of the greatest men I've had the pleasure of knowing. I will always remember the way he pushed me to be the best I could be. He will truely be missed. The entire Pomerance family has our sympathies.

The 1st Sgt. impacted many young lives that walked through the office door of the ROTC building. The sign on his desk stating, "I am not prejudice, I hate everyone!" was the opposite of how he lived his life. Thank you for teaching us all honor, discipline & compassion over the years! There are no words to describe the impact 1st SGT had on our lives. Mom, we are thinking of you and praying for you at this time.

It is with great sadness that I write this and send my sincerest condelences to the Pomerance family in this time of loss. Mom, we all love you and grieve alongside you. We wish you strength and peace in knowing that he touched so many lives and will never be forgotten. He took us all under his wing as family and always pushed us to find the best in ourselves. I will always be grateful to him for the man he was and all the best he brought out in me. I wouldn't be the same person I am today without him.
