Adarsh Kumar Hari, affectionately known as Sunny, embarked on his life's journey on May 4, 1940, in Uitvlugt West Coast, Demerara, Guyana, South America. He was a cherished son of Mahadai Persaud and a beloved brother to Sookdeo. Sunny's life was one of remarkable achievements and selfless contributions, and on July 24, 2023, he peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever cherished.
Sunny's educational journey began at the SCHOOL FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED BOYS, where his potential was recognized and celebrated. He was awarded the Guyadean Scholarship, excelling in his studies and completing the Senior Cambridge and GCE Exams. His dedication to education continued as he earned the prestigious Walter Gayadin Scholarship during his time at Rose Hall High School.
In 1964, Sunny embraced a new chapter in life as he married his beloved wife of 27 years, Jasoda Sharma. Together, they were blessed with five children: Sam, Lydia, Joshua, Cecilia, and Manika. As a devoted husband and father, Sunny poured his heart into supporting and loving his family unconditionally.
A man of many talents, Sunny's entrepreneurial spirit led him to the world of real estate. His unmatched negotiation skills and dedication resulted in a successful career as a top real estate agent. In 1998, he founded his own company, SH Realty, alongside his business partner and beloved wife, Lee Hari.
But beyond his professional pursuits, Sunny had a heart of gold. He was a visionary with a genuine desire to give back. He pioneered student sponsorship programs and financial aid for single mothers and children in rural India, providing over 355 students with scholarships. This act of kindness was a heartfelt tribute to his own mother, who was a single mother herself. Sunny's selflessness and devotion to uplifting others left an indelible mark on the lives of many.
Sunny was also an avid writer, sharing his literary works from religious to poetry generously with others. Gardening was his zen, and he found solace in nurturing vegetables and plants, cultivating a beautiful oasis in his backyard.
Sunny's spiritual journey was equally profound. He was a member of Self Realization Fellowship (SRF), where he sought oneness with the Lord. His mastery of meditation brought him to tears, experiencing the divine connection that touched his soul deeply.
Sunny had a unique way of connecting with people. With a sincere curiosity, he engaged in meaningful conversations, forging authentic connections wherever he went. This endearing quality made him not just a successful real estate agent but also a cherished friend to many.
Sunny's departure leaves a void in our lives, but his spirit and the memories he gifted us will forever remain in our hearts. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Lee, and their children and grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
As we gather to celebrate the life of our beloved Sunny, let us find comfort in the knowledge that his remarkable journey has touched countless lives and inspired us to be better versions of ourselves.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
