

Adela G. Campos was born November 16, 1920 in Progreso, Mexico. She was called home to be with the Lord, on April 9, 2012 at the age of 91. Adela was proud to be a naturalized U.S. Citizen. She married Tomas Campos and had three sons and a daughter whom died in infancy. As a widow, in 1953 she immigrated to the U.S. along with her three sons and moved to San Antonio for the remainder of her life. She worked as a seamstress for many years and finally retired in 1970. She loved to crochet baby outfits, which she sold or gave away to new mothers. She loved to have sweet bread & coffee every day. Adela enjoyed talking to her friends and neighbors daily including her mail lady. She prayed daily for others. Adela was one of the founders of “El Buen Pastor” and served faithfully in various positions for the United Methodist women’s group. Adela was full of love of Jesus Christ and she shared it with everyone. She is survived by her sons; Pedro Campos and wife Gloria, Tomas Campos and wife Maria Eugenia, Enrique Campos and wife Cindy, grandchildren Susan Ruiz, Peter Campos and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. We will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Emanuel “El Buen Pastor” United Methodist Church, 3225 W. Poplar for a 10:00 a.m. service to celebrate Mrs. Campos life. Interment to follow in San Fernando No. III. In lieu of flowers family would like donations to be made to Emanuel United Methodist Church.
