

Adele King Edmunds, a beloved San Antonian, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on November 23, 1931, Adele was a cherished member of the San Antonio community and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Adele's life was marked by her passion for sewing and needlecraft work, which she pursued with great skill and enthusiasm. She had a deep love for gardening, often found tending to her flowers with a dedication that mirrored her nurturing spirit. Her adoration for cats was well-known; her grandchild Jamie affectionately dubbed her "Grandma Cats," a fitting tribute to her enduring fondness for feline companions.
Adele’s love for her family and her country was unwavering. She was the cherished wife of the late Norman Ray Edmunds, with whom she shared 41 wonderful years. She is preceded in death by her, husband, her parents Claude E.R. King Jr. and Lillian King, and her brother Claude E.R. King III.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Edmunds; her son, Norman King Edmunds; and her cherished grandchild, Jamison Edmunds. Adele’s legacy extends beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her.
In a remarkable piece of family history, Adele was related to Dr. Albert King, her great-great-uncle, who was the first doctor on site following the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
Adele will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering love for her family, and her passion for the simple joys of life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, September 14, 2024, 9:00-10:00 A.M. at our McCullough location.
