Adele G. Miller

Adele Groce Miller went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2012 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on March 13, 1923 to the late Esco Groce and Bernice Groce in Poplar Bluff, MO. She served as the secretary of 11 successive commanders to Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, TX from 1967-1982. She was active at Central Christian for over 70 years. She loved spending time with her family and traveling with her daughter Sonnie & husband Carl. She was an avid tennis player, loved bridge and card games, fishing, Christian women fellowship, learned to ride a horse at age 45, cross-stitched amazing creations and enjoyed gardening with her husband. She was a great cook and never forgot a birthday or anniversary of her loved ones. She celebrated Sonnie & Carl’s 50th wedding anniversary in the hospital as they recommitted their vows. She was a beautiful, fun, intelligent, gracious and detailed lady that will be dearly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert Miller; sister, Irene and her daughter Karen O’Keefe. Survivors include her daughter, Sonnie Raffety & husband Carl; son, Bobby Miller & wife Debbie; and blessed with 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Central Christian Church, 720 N. Main, SATX 78205. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.campblessing.org.
