

Adrian W. (Ed) O’Donnell, age 90, passed away on Monday, November 14th. Born in Queens, New York, the only child of Adrian and Anna (Murphy) O’Donnell, he attended De La Salle high school and graduated from Manhattan College in 1954.
He served three years in the Air Force, two of which were in Ashiya, Japan, followed by several years in the reserves and discharged with the rank of Captain. He married Maryanne (Morris) in 1957.
He started a 40-year oil career with Gulf Oil as a sales rep in Connecticut. He moved into sales management and division management in New Hampshire, Maine, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Columbus Ohio. He rose to Vice President of Marketing and was involved with the integration of Gulf Marketing to Chevron prior to his first retirement. He then joined Diamond Shamrock as a Group Vice President in 1985 and retired in 1997 after serving as a Senior Vice President Group Executive and Senior Vice President & President of Marketing.
He was predeceased by his wife Maryanne after 63 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter Barbara and husband Bradley Cosey, son Steven, and son Michael and wife Laura, and grandchildren Max Adrian and Samantha O’Donnell.
He loved his job and used to enjoy saying “TGIM” (instead of TGIF) as he began each work week. He loved his family and was so very proud to be a grandpa. He was happy to tell everyone that he had lived a wonderful life.
