Aileen E. Adams

Mrs. Aileen E. Adams passed away on June 3, 2009. She was born on May 17, 1922 to A.W. and Elvina McFadden in Paris, Texas. Aileen graduated from Paris High School and Paris Junior College. She taught school for two years in View Point, Texas in Lamar County and joined the Women's Army Core, WAC, August 2, 1943. Following training and service in the Pacific she was among the first contingent of women to arrive in Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. After completing her service October 23, 1945, she went on to graduate from Texas Tech College where she met and married Robert L. "Bob" Adams. Aileen followed her husband for 25 years through eight moves in his Air Force Career and joined him in Real Estate sales and investments in Austin, Texas where she retired. Aileen taught elementary school in Oak Hills, Texas; Harmon AFB, Newfoundland; Bellevue, Nebraska, and Guam. She and her husband then moved to Air Force Village in June 2003. Aileen is survived by her husband Lt Col Robert L. Adams; daughter, Beverly Adams of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Joy Marion of El Paso, Texas; sister, Marguerite Edwards of Paris, Texas; brother, Wayne McFadden of Paris, Texas; two grandsons; one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Her interests were studying the Bible, playing bridge, reading, traveling, family and friends
