He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from which he retired in 1965.
He is preceded in death by beloved son, Alex Hughes, Jr.; his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Alex is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Consuelo Hughes; daughters: Carmen Ybarra, Debbie Mae Sosa both of Schertz; Elizabeth Flores and husband, Lauro of Seguin; sons: Matthew Hughes and wife, Vicki; James Hughes of Schertz; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Eldora Hughes.
Alex was a very humble and loving individual ~ he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22nd from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
