

Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco M. and Antonia Seguin Jimenez. His loving wife Josephine (Josie) Rodriguez Jimenez, born on October 05, 1938 and passed on November 19, 2021. They were happily married for 63 years.
He was also preceded by his (2 brothers) Edward F. Jimenez, and his loving wife Alberta Garcia Jimenez, and Albert Jimenez (Helen who is still with us). And 2 brother in laws, Richard Rodriguez (Yolanda) and Gilbert Rodriguez (Jovita), both spouses still with us.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Steven A. and Robert F. Jimenez, 1 grandson John R. Jimenez and 1 great granddaughter Kylie Jimenez. And Bea Jimenez who was his and Josie's caretaker and former daughter in law. 1 brother-in-law Pete (Hope) Rodriguez and 2 sisters in laws Olga (Frank) Garibay and Diana Benavides and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alex also served with the US Army Corps, enlisted in 1956 and was Honorably discharged in 1958.
Alex then worked for Handy Andy as a carpenter, until the business closed. He then used his carpentry skills to begin his own business. Then he went to work for Bexar County Parks and Recreation, until his retirement.
He participated with the Knights of Columbus, The St. James Guild, the St. Vincent de Paul Society and American Sportsman Club.
Alex was an avid bowler, participated with his brother Edward in many tournaments. He also enjoyed fishing, trips to the coast with his family. He also was a CYO baseball, flag football and basketball coach, which he enjoyed. They both loved going to Las Vegas, he was a wiz on the roulette tables.
Alex's maternal roots are deep in San Antonio lore and history. His ancestral grandfather, Juan N. Flores, fought in the Texas Revolution and was a brother-in- law to Colonel Juan N. Seguin. Additionally, Juan Francisco Flores de Obrego y Valdez was also an ancestral grandfather and is listed as a patriot of the American Revolution 1776-1783. Alex's roots can also be traced as a direct descendant of Domingo Curbelo, a member of the original sixteen Canary Island families who settled in San Antonio in 1731.

Last rites at 10am on Wednesday August 27, 2025 at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
