Alexander "Buddy" Campbell Key Jr.

Buddy was born in Austin, Texas, to A.C. and Virgia Key on December 19, 1926. He went to school at Martin High in Laredo, Texas. He married Patricia Glasscock on February 20, 1954 in Laredo. He had graduated from the University of Texas with a Business degree and then joined his father’s business until 1980, when he sold it and moved his family to Helotes. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army, as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Being officially retired, he devoted his time to enjoying his growing extended family, maintaining his new home, and being active in the church of Christ, where he had served as an elder.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Louise and Sarah.

He is survived by his wife Pattilu; four children, Kitty Ochoa and husband Michael, Brooksie and her husband Michael Berry, Patricia Harwerth and husband Lance, and A. C. Key III and his wife Michelle (Hagen); twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Boerne Church of Christ, #1 Upper Balcones Road, Boerne, Texas 78006 with Pastor Chris Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road San Antonio,Texas 78209 on March 3, 2025 at 2:30 pm with US Army military honors. Arrangements are with Sunset Northwest Funeral Home of San Antonio.

Buddy’s family wishes to extend our thanks to Honey’s House of Helotes. He was the best man any of us have known and he is with our Lord.
