Alfonso was born in Rayon San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Juana Loredo Mancilla and Jose Martinez Lopez on Halloween, 1949. What he loved most in the world was his wife of 35 years and their daughter.
Alfonso worked as a Foreman for MasTec for over 30 years, diligently working throughout the week and Saturdays to provide for his small family and ensure they had everything they needed and never struggled. Even working long hours in the heat, he never complained. When he came home from a long day’s work, sweating and exhausted, he still greeted his family with the biggest smile.
What little time he had off was spent with his family. Even then, he could never sit still and relax, always finding something to do in the yard, fixing up the house, and utilizing his carpentry knowledge to build hilariously random items for his loved ones.
His devotion to his family did not go unnoticed by others. Everyone who knew him spoke of how much he talked about his wife and especially his daughter, always proudly speaking of her accomplishments to anyone who would listen. Those who didn’t know him didn’t stay strangers for long. He could easily strike up a conversation with anyone, greeting them with a firm handshake and his signature wide grin. He didn’t know the definition of an inside voice, speaking at such a loud volume for everyone to hear, almost as if he wanted his happiness to reach as many people as possible.
He was always smiling, so happy and content with life. That is how his family would like to remember him—always smiling.
Alfonso is preceded in death by his mother, Juana Loredo Mancilla.
Alfonso is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Senaida Romero Escobar; his daughter, Sandy Martinez and her Fiancé, Leo Edwards; his siblings, Nemecia Martinez Loredo, Gildarda Martinez Loredo, Maria Genoveva Martinez Loredo, Salome Martinez Loredo, Rafaela Martinez Loredo, Melecia Martinez Loredo, Rosalio Martinez Loredo, Cayetano Martinez Loredo, Camerino Martinez Loredo; and his father, Jose Martinez Lopez.
Alfonso Martinez Loredo was an extraordinary individual and wonderful family man. It pains me to think of those who never had the chance to meet him. He will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. Rest well, Daddy.
