Our dearest Father and most prized Grandpa, Alfonso H. Villarreal, lovingly known as "Poncho" passed away Monday, November 5, 2001 at his home. He was born October 22, 1934 in San Antonio to Pablo and Tomasa Villarreal. Dad found great joy in his family and working hard in his business as well as his ranch. He was honored in serving his country as a United States Marine stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his son, Gilbert Tristan, Sr. as well as his brother, Pablo Villarreal, Jr. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Consuelo T. Villarreal; 7 children, Helen Hernandez, Sylvia Paez and husband, Samuel, Diane T. Villarreal, Alfonso Villarreal, Jr., Rose Marie Siller and husband, Matias, and Gerald Villarreal. Dad was always surrounded by his 16 grandchildren and never missed a moment to express his tenderness to his 8 great grandchildren. Dad will be deeply missed by his 3 surviving brothers; 6 sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
