Alfredo Lopez, a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away at the age of 50 in San Antonio, Texas. He leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Monica Lopez, and two beautiful daughters, Alexandria Nicola Lopez and Ariana Pilar Lopez, who were the light of his life.
Alfredo had a love for baseball at an early age and was allowed the opportunity to start playing in elementary school for St. Mary Magdalene’s CYO. His love for the game continued as he played in Alamo Heights Little League and even had the extraordinary opportunity to play in Mexico City, where he met Mother Teresa—a moment he cherished for the rest of his life.
Alfredo was proud of his education and accomplishments. He began his Catholic education at St. Ann’s Elementary School. He graduated from Antonian College Preparatory High School, where he was a proud Apache and a member of the 1991 State Championship football team—a memory he loved to share with everyone. He went on to earn his degrees from Northwood University (BBA) and Our Lady of the Lake University (MBA).
During college, Alfredo worked at Zeidler & Zeidler and Zales before beginning his professional career at Northwood University as an Admissions Counselor. As an admissions counselor, his recruiting area spanned all of South Texas and extended into Mexico. Alfredo worked at the university for two years, and during a work trip, he met Monica, who would become his wife. After proposing, Alfredo returned home to San Antonio and began working at West Telemarketing as a Client Manager, where he contributed to projects in Jamaica.
In 2006, Alfredo began a new chapter at The Lynd Company, where he worked with dedication and loyalty until his last day. Over nearly two decades, he held numerous leadership roles, including Director of Call Center & Resident Services, Compliance, Construction Services, Regional Manager, Vice President, Executive Vice President of Operations, and, most recently, Vice President of Construction Services. His commitment to the company and his colleagues was unwavering, and he took great pride in his work. His colleagues admired his camaraderie, professionalism, integrity, and ability to lead with kindness and respect.
Beyond his professional life, Alfredo’s greatest joy was his family. He loved coaching his two daughters in sports, spending countless hours on the field and court, teaching them teamwork, perseverance, and confidence. He also loved dancing at parties and was famous for tearing up the dance floor with his brother Marc during their iconic routine to “Poison.” His energy and joy were contagious, and those moments will forever bring smiles to those who knew him.
Alfredo was preceded in death by his father, Alfonso Lopez, and is survived by his wife, Monica Lopez; his daughters, Alexandria Nicola Lopez, Ariana Pilar Lopez; his mother, Rosalinda Lopez; his
brother, Marcos Alfonso Lopez, and wife Sandy; nieces Brandi (Ryan), Amanda, and Nina; great-nephew and niece, Aiden and Amy; and numerous extended family members.
Alfredo was known for his kindness, strength, and devotion to his family. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his generous spirit and wisdom. Whether through his work, his passions, or simply the way he cared for others, Alfredo made a lasting impact on his community and those closest to him.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.
