Celebrating a Life of Dedication, Love, and Lasting Memories
Alicia Garcia, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in San Antonio, Texas, to Pedro and Librada Fierros, Alicia spent most of her life in Atascosa, Texas, where she raised her own family. She was married to her devoted husband, Juan Garcia, her first and only love, for 55 years. Together, they built their red farmhouse and filled it with laughter, unconditional support, and enduring love—a legacy that continues in their children and grandchildren.
Alicia led a fulfilling career as an Instructional Aid for SWISD where she took great pride in supporting teachers and watching her grandchildren flourish in the classrooms she helped nurture. A gifted cook, Alicia’s passion for feeding hungry bellies blossomed into a second career as a chef at Guardian Angel Daycare. Her meals brought joy and comfort to many, but especially her family. She was a jack of all trades who could go from sewing beautiful dresses to hanging drywall. She was the keeper of her home.
Above all, Alicia’s greatest joy was caring for her family and those she loved. Her strength and wisdom were the foundation of her family, and the lessons she imparted will be treasured forever.
She was preceded in death by Juan Garcia, Pedro and Librada Fierros, her grandmother Perfecta Luna, her brother John Fierros, and her grandchildren Sophia Garcia and Alicia Bernal.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Elizabeth (Julian) Bell, John (Anna) Garcia, Ann Marie Garcia, (Mike Castano), Peter Simon (Cynthia) Garcia. Her beloved grandchildren include Stephannie (Frank) Bernal, Alexandria (Cody) Evans, Arianna Bell, Nathaniel Castano, Ryan Diego Garcia, Jordan Javier Garcia, Chloe Grace Garcia, James Castano. Her Great Grandchildren include Alexander Bernal, Catarina Bernal, Zoey Bernal, Anastasia Evans, and Catherine Evans. Her siblings include Rosie Aguinaga, Gloria Martinez, Lupe Fierros, Sylvia Lomas, Raymond Fierros, Louie (Debbie) Fierros, Pete Fierros, and Adolph (Kristine) Fierros.
We invite friends and loved ones to join us in celebrating Alicia’s life and honoring the profound legacy she leaves behind.
