

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alonzo Gonzalez - a loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. Alonzo passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the age of 91.
Alonzo was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, he joined the US Army in 1954 and served in the Korean War. He was a dance-loving, south Texas cowboy who thrived on ranch life and raising his four children around his beloved horses. Alonzo never missed an opportunity to dance with his grandkids or sit on the porch with his family enjoying the sunset. He retired in San Antonio, Texas, and became a parishioner at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church.
Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique Gonzalez and Irene Dovalina Gonzalez and his siblings, Concepcion Herrera, Irene Riojas, Ernestina Cardenas, Clementina Burkhardt, Enrique Gonzalez, Armandina Burford, Orvilia Valdez, Esther Aguilera, Estela dela Garza, and Abraham Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eva E. Gonzalez; daughters, Eva Gonzalez Carpenter and Patricia Gonzalez Reyna; sons, Jose Alonzo Gonzalez and Carlos Enrique Gonzalez; grandchildren, Mariscela Beatriz Mendez, Cristina Alejandra Cortez, Monica Celeste Mendez-Hearn, and Rebecca Patricia Reyna; great grandchildren, Mia Nova Hearn, Alyssa Belle Cortez, and Lexi Luna Hearn.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Porter Loring Mortuary West, 1710 West Loop 1604 North.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
Con gran tristeza y pesar en el corazn anunciamos el fallecimiento de Alonzo Gonzlez, un amado esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo. Alonzo falleci el Mircoles 24 de Agosto de 2022 a la edad de 91 aos.
Alonzo naci en Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mxico, se uni al Ejrcito de los EE. UU. en 1954 y sirvi en la Guerra de Coreana. Era un vaquero del sur de Tejas, amante al baile, que prosperaba en la vida del rancho y criaba a sus cuatro hijos alrededor de sus amados caballos. Alonzo nunca perdi la oportunidad de bailar con sus nietos o sentarse en el porche con su familia para disfrutar del atardecer. Se jubil en San Antonio, Tejas, y se convirti en feligrs de la Iglesia Catlica del Santo Antonio Mara Claret.
Al Sr. Gonzlez le precedieron en muerte sus padres, Enrique Gonzlez e Irene Dovalina Gonzlez y sus hermanos, Concepcin Herrera, Irene Riojas, Ernestina Crdenas, Clementina Burkhardt, Enrique Gonzlez, Armandina Burford, Orvilia Valdez, Esther Aguilera, Estela de la Garza y Abrahn Gonzlez. Le sobrevive su esposa de 66 aos, Eva E. Gonzlez; hijas, Eva Gonzlez Carpenter y Patricia Gonzlez Reyna; hijos, Jos Alonzo Gonzlez y Carlos Enrique Gonzlez; nietos, Mariscela Beatriz Mndez, Cristina Alejandra Cortez, Mnica Celeste Mndez-Hearn y Rebecca Patricia Reyna; bisnietos, Mia Nova Hearn, Alyssa Belle Cortez y Lexi Luna Hearn.
La familia recibir a los amigos desde las 2:00pm hasta las 6:00pm, el Domingo 28 de Agosto de 2022 en, Porter Loring Mortuary West, 1710 West Loop 1604 North.
En lugar de flores, se pueden hacer contribuciones conmemorativas a la Asociacion de Alzheimer.
