She was born in Caldwell County, TX to Daniel and Alta May Johnson. Alta graduated as valedictorian from Waelder High School Class of 1942.
She was employed in civil service at Randolph Field (1942-1951); 21 years at Joske's (1966-1987) and was the owner and manager of the Sand Hill Ranch.
She was a faithful member of Castle Hills First Baptist Church.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and a fantastic grandmother.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul W. Wright (2011); Alta is survived by her daughters: Emily Wright Mims and husband, Charles; Betty M. Gilton and husband, Dennis; grandsons: Charles William Mims, Brian J. Mims and wife Sarah; Scott R. Gilton and wife Becky; Thomas Gilton and wife Amber; Matthew Gilton; great-grandsons: Caleb Mims, Tanner Mims and Conner Murphy Mims.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough.
On Thursday, January 8th a service will be held in the Porter Loring Chapel beginning at 1:00 PM followed by interment in Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy.
