She was born in Collin County, Texas on August 23, 1926, to Turner W. West and Mattie B. Higgins West. In 1948, Ruth graduated from North Texas State.
She married Coach Theo Rigsby in 1950. The couple followed his career and made their home in North Richland Hills where Ruth taught science and math at Haltom Junior High for 20 years.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Annabel Baldwin of Las Cruces, New Mexico; her children, Drs. Richard and Carole Rigsby of San Antonio, Texas and her daughter, Marian Dahlin of London, Texas; her grandchildren, Courtney Navarrette, Rachel and John Lee, Lauren Rigsby, and Tyra Dahlin; as well as four great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, as well her step daughter Susan and four brothers and sisters.
