Alyssa Courtney Montez

Alyssa Courtney Montez entered heaven on Saturday, September 25th in San Antonio at the young age of 24. Alyssa was born on March 25, 1997 to Rudy and Gracie Montez. She graduated from Travis Early College High School and simultaneously earned her Associates Degree from San Antonio College. Alyssa was currently attending Texas A&M in San Antonio where she was majoring in Cyber Security. Alyssa was a sweet soul who radiated with inner and outer beauty. She was very proud of her brother and knew he will do great things. She had a special place in her heart for animals and would try to bring home every stray cat or dog she encountered. She made friends easily and would make it a point to check in on them to offer support or to even just hear their voice. Alyssa shared a unique sisterhood with her closest friends that led her on many adventures, the love and bond between them will be unbroken for eternity. Alyssa loved to play volleyball and had just joined a volleyball league. She was a gamer, loved to draw and travel. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Martin Victor Mata, and paternal grandfather, Juan Montez, Jr. Alyssa is survived by her parents, Rudy and Gracie Montez; her brother, Christian Montez whom she adored; her maternal grandmother, Elisa (Santos) Ligues and paternal grandmother, Lucia H. Montez. Alyssa loved her family and treasured her aunts and uncles. She treated her cousins like brothers and sisters and enjoyed hanging out with them and beating them in almost all holiday games. Alyssa was their biggest fan and would cheer them on and celebrate with them as they successfully maneuvered through life. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14th, at Porter Loring Mortuary West. ROSARY THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14TH 7:00PM PORTER LORING CHAPEL WEST 1710 W. Pallbearers will be Christian Montez, Gregory Ornelas, Joseph Alejos, Royce Torres, Levi Torres, and Vance Torres.
