Amada Gutierrez Medina

Amada Gutierrez Medina, a woman of boundless ambition and perpetual self-improvement, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 10, 1933, in Fowlerton, Texas to Maria and Onofre Gutierrez.

In 1967, Amada began her career in civil service at Kelly Air Force Base, a journey that would shape her identity and leave an indelible mark on those she encountered. With steadfast determination, Amada ascended through the ranks, transcending the limitations set before her. She climbed the ranks from GS4 to GS9. Her 33 years in civil service was a testament to her unwavering dedication and unparalleled work ethic.

Outside of work, Amada was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. She cheered on her favorite teams with unwavering loyalty, her enthusiasm inspired all who watched the game alongside her. Whether it was shouting at the television screen or donning her team's colors with pride, Amada's love for football and basketball was a defining aspect of her personality.

Above all else, Amada cherished the company of her friends and family. Their laughter was the melody of her existence, their presence the anchor in the tumultuous seas of life. Whether gathered around the dinner table or sharing stories on the porch, she found solace in their embrace, her heart overflowing with gratitude for their unwavering love and support.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Mike Medina, Jr. Amada is survived by son, Michael Louis Medina and his wife, Jeannette; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Medina Briseno and her husband, Tommy; daughter, Alma Grace Medina; numerous grandchildren, great grandchild, and great great grandchildren; sisters, Teresa Gutierrez and Linda Gutierrez Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
