

Amador served in the US Army as a Medical Technician from April 1945 to July 5, 1954. He served in World War II, was stationed in the Philippines and assisted with their gain of independence and he served in the Korean War. Amador was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Society of Guadalupanos of St. Bonaventure Church where he was also an ordained Catholic Deacon.
Amador is preceded in death by his parents, Bartolo Gonzalez and Esther Gonzalez, siblings, Jose David Gonzalez, Humberto Zaragoza Gonzalez, Carmen Hugo Gonzalez and Esther Irene Franco, grandson, David Hugo Gonzalez, great granddaughter, Mylah Reann Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Palmira D. Gonzalez, sons, Amador Eloy Gonzalez and his wife Juanita Theresa Gonzalez of Houston, Texas, Silvestre Zaragoza Gonzalez, Sergio Gonzalez and daughter Rosario Gonzalez De Llano and her husband Gerardo De Llano, all of San Antonio, Texas, sister, Olga G. Molina, Austin, Texas, 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great, great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be, Amador Eloy Gonzalez, Silvestre Gonzalez, Sergio Gonzalez, Eloy Gonzalez, Jr., Gerardo De Llano and Sunny Gonzalez.
While we appreciate the gesture of flowers, unfortunately the Fort Sam National Cemetery does not allow floral arrangements at the burial site so all flowers will be left at the church.
Therefore, we graciously ask that you refrain from sending flowers and if your heart wants to honor Amador in another way, feel free to consider making a donation in lieu of flowers instead to either the: San Antonio/So. Visitation for Amador will be Wednesday May 29, 2024 from 5:00PM-10:30PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. San Antonio TX, 78211. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday May 30, 2024 at 11:30AM at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with Military Honors to follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
