Ana Maria Lecea was born June 25, 1943, in Monterrey, Mexico, to Argelio Jose Lecea and Ana Maria Gonzalez de Lecea. She grew up in a lively household alongside her five brothers, fostering a strong sense of family, resilience, and determination. As a child, Ana Maria moved to Flint, Michigan, where she embraced new opportunities and worked diligently toward her education. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and pursued a career in teaching while raising her children. After relocating to San Antonio, Texas, she explored various professional paths before discovering her true passion: entrepreneurship. This passion ultimately led her to establish her own company.
Under her leadership, Professional Performance Development Group (PPDG) pioneered innovative solutions that enhanced leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and organizational growth.
Ana Maria’s dedication to executive coaching, leadership development, and high-performance team building was central to PPDG’s success. Her ability to inspire and empower leaders was a hallmark of her career, and her influence continues to resonate in the organizations and individuals she mentored. She was passionate about business development and constantly generated ideas for new ventures she hoped to pursue.
Equally important to her professional accomplishments was the legacy she built within her family. Ana Maria instilled in her children a deep understanding of entrepreneurship, leadership, and self-reliance. She believed in building a foundation that would create generational success, encouraging them to dream boldly, work strategically, and lead with integrity. Her guidance continues to shape their lives and the lives of her grandchildren.
Ana Maria also had a love for oil painting and often clipped inspiring images, envisioning them as beautiful works of art. She is remembered not only for her exceptional business acumen and strategic vision but also for her creativity with art and oil painting. Her ability to blend innovative thinking in both business and art reflected the depth of her imagination and her passion for creating beauty in many forms.
She is survived by her children, Kristina Coleman and her husband, Jim Coleman, and Klaus Schonfeld and his wife, Amanda Schonfeld; as well as her grandchildren Aidan Coleman, Anneliese Coleman, Lucas Coleman, Keira Schonfeld, and Meghan Schonfeld. She is also survived by four brothers: Argelio Lecea, Gregorio Lecea, Oscar Lecea, and Virgilio Lecea. Her brother Jorge Lecea preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held on November 13, 2025 at 12pm at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX, where we will celebrate her remarkable life and the enduring legacy she leaves behind. Ana Maria’s memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the generations she inspired.
