

Anastacio “Tacho” Ramirez, born March 12, 1944, passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 81 after a brave and unwavering battle against cancer. Tacho was the kind of man who left a lasting impression, humble, hard-working, and full of heart. With his sharp sense of humor and deep love for his family, he brought light and laughter to every life he touched. Whether telling stories, sharing laughs, spending quiet moments fishing-one of his favorite pastimes, or visiting his favorite neighborhood store Thrift-T-Mart--he lived with a quiet joy and authenticity that inspired everyone around him. A skilled painter by trade, Tacho poured pride and precision into everything he did. He was also the proud owner of Ramirez Auto Shine, a
business he built with dedication and hard work. His commitment to his craft and community earned him respect far and wide, but it was his kindness and humility that made him truly unforgettable.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Anastacio Martinez Ramirez Sr. and Guadalupe Gomez Ramirez; his brother, Juan Mario Ramirez; and his cherished grandchildren, Carlos Anthony Lopez and Kimberly Lynn Pena.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia T. Ramirez; daughters, Sylvia Marie Ramirez, Margie Ramirez Salazar (Petie Saucedo), and Maggie Ann Alistun (Richard Alistun); sons, Anastacio Ray Ramirez (Lisa Ramirez), Rodney Ramirez and Roland Ramirez. He is also survived by his sister, Julia Ramirez Herrera (Carlos); brothers, Santiago "Jimmy" Ramirez (Alicia), Elijo Ramirez, and Jose Luis Ramirez.
Tacho's legacy lives on through his twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends. He was the heart of our family and the pillar of our strength. His legacy of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A visitation for Anastacio will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 535 New Laredo Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78211 with interment to follow at Mission Park South cemetery, 1700 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78214.
