Andres Jesus Garza, affectionately known as “Andy” to his family, passed away peacefully May 31, 2025 on the feast day of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the age of 65. Born on May 30, 1960 in San Antonio, TX to Alfonso Jesus and Maria Evangelina Garza. Andy will forever be remembered for his love of faith and family, and for his big heart and jovial spirit.
Andy was very proud of his Catholic upbringing and education, attending St. Anthony Catholic Grade School, Antonian College Preparatory High School, and St. Mary’s University. Very much an entrepreneur, he successfully launched his career by establishing Conectic Software Systems, where he served as CEO and President for 35 years. He was first Hispanic acknowledged and awarded for his entrepreneurship contributions in the field of accounting software.
Those who knew Andy best often spoke of his deeply selfless nature, reflected in countless simple acts of kindness, his willingness to sacrifice, and his constant readiness to help others. This generosity of spirit was perhaps most evident in the loving care he gave to his elderly parents during their final years. He was the fun, warm-hearted grandfather and uncle—always thoughtful, always generous, especially when it came to giving gifts that showed how much he cared. Andy truly lived with a servant’s heart, giving of himself freely and with love.
Andy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Norma Lydia Garza, and a loving father to Stevan and Jackie Garza, Raymond Scott and Jessica Solis, and Jennifer and Nicholas Kiger. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Leo Sebastian, Katherine, Benjamin, Rebecca, Iris, and Samuel. Andy is also survived by his siblings: Ruben and Teresa Hinojosa, Dr. Alfonso J. Garza, and Armando J. and Suzette Garza, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Among his greatest joys in life was the birth of his grandson Leo—a moment he treasured deeply.
For Andy, everything centered around his love of family and his Catholic faith. Both he and Norma were active in their parish church of Holy Trinity. In 2016, they became members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher. Together they had the great blessing and joy of visiting a wide arrange of pilgrimage sites.
We will greatly miss our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was in every sense of the word a “Gentleman and a Scholar.”
