Angelena "Angie" Ramirez

Angelena Ramirez, better known as Angie, entered into the loving arms of our Lord on January 15, 2024 at the tender age of 84. Her journey began on August 7, 1939 in Coal Mine, Texas. Angie was the second oldest child of Jovita and Santiago Porto.

Angie gained a skill in high school in sewing and became an amazing seamstress. She worked and retired as a seamstress from The Hyatt Regency Resort Hotel. She had a talent for clothing, easily making patterns by hand, doing numerous alterations, and serving anyone with her talent. She was a great cook, especially tamales. She was also a woman of faith. She followed our Lord, and served as a Guadalupana, a Rosary Maker, was part of the ACTS Ministry and also served as an Extraordinary Minister with St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Angie also enjoyed trying her luck in the casinos, playing the slots and playing bingo and bunco. Most of all, Angie loved her family. She took pride and joy in her children and her heart grew when the grandchildren arrived. When the kids played sports, Angie was always involved and was their biggest supporter and cheerleader.

Angie will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Jovita and Santiago Porto; beloved husband, Gregorio Ramirez; daughter, Virginia Wear; sister, Belen; and brother, Eugene.

Her memory will forever live in her loving children, Sylvia Serna (Richard), Isidro Ramirez (Rosemary), Ernest Ramirez, Gregory Ramirez (Yolanda), Albert Ramirez (Patricia), Sandra “Sandy” Guerra (Fred), and Stephen Ramirez (Mickey). Son-in-law, Kyle; grandchildren, Richard Jr., Rueben, Raymond, Isidro Jr., Jake Ray, Michael, Diana, Robert, David, Kelley, Kasey, David, Gregory III, Landalynn “Haley”, Maegan, August, Ashleigh, Albert Anthony, Kristen, Stephen Jr., Isaiah Angelo, and Stephanie; 28 great-grandchildren and she was the lucky one to first find out about another great-grandchild on the way; Sister, Ernestina Sanchez; and brothers, Jimmy and Tony; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
