Angelina Vega Vara

Born February 16, 1925 in San Antonio, Angie graduated from Ursuline Academy and became a well respected, professional cosmetologist and beautician with Frost Brothers, Saks Fifth Avenue and maintained her own salon.

Early in life, Angie was very active with St. Paul's Catholic Church and later as a much sought after volunteer with the Bluebird Auxilliary, Guadalupanas at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Angie was preceded in death by preceded by her beloved godchild, Yolanda Yolie Gutierrez Vargas, her dear elder sister, Ninfa Vega Gutierrez and her husband, Richard, her dear younger sister, Lydia Vega Collings and her loving parents, Lazaro Nava Vega and Sara Lopez Tapia de Vega Vara.

Angelina is survived by her husband, Gilbert Vara, Sr; son, Gilbert Vara, Jr. and wife, Helaina; grandchildren, Katherine Kelsey Vara and Juliana Camille Vara; brothers; Francisco Miguel Vega and wife, Phyllis, Lazaro Nava Vega, Jr. and wife, Jan of Grand Rapids, MI, Guillermo Lopez Vega, , and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. Mart the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks, San Antonio, TX 78232, the Bluebird Auxilliary of the Methodist Hospital and/or Ursuline Academy.
