She is survived by her beloved spouse of 16 years, Col. John Olson Ret; six children: Nancy Rooney John: Pat Phillips Vern; Jim Strain Sam; Kelly Ellington John; Kate Robinson; and Bill Strain Lisa; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Terry was born at Fort Bliss, TX and was the eldest daughter of Calvary Officer Col. I. G. Walker. She married Col. James W. Strain in Japan and was married to Jim for over 40 years.
After his death in 1988, she married Col. John E. Olson and they became world traveling companions. In her youth, she enjoyed equestrian riding with her family. She was known by family and friends as a master bridge player, seamstress, world traveler, tennis player and a Great Lady.
She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.
