
Ann grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1960. Ann first married Jim Teel in 1963 and moved to Houston where they raised their three children.
Ann and Arlyn Cook married in October of 1997, after losing their first loves in 1995 and 1996. They retired to Blanco, Texas where Ann became interested in birding, gardening, and conservation activities. Ann was involved with Highland Lakes Master Naturalists, Friends of Blanco State Park, Blanco County Master Gardeners, Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society, Selah Bamberger Ranch Preserve, and Blanco Chamber of Commerce.
Ann dedicated her time and energy to volunteering and the education of the next generation of birders, naturalists, gardeners, and conservationists. Her impact was far reaching and will continue through those who learned from her. Her bright cheerful attitude and laugh will be fondly remembered by those who knew her.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband, Arlyn, her children: Ned Teel (Sarah), Amy Duke (Larry), and Chap Teel, her step-children: Kresten Cook (Kimberly), and Rhonda Trevino (Kenneth). Her grandchildren: Logan Duke, Ashleigh Duke, Morgan Teel, Samantha Teel, Lauren Teel, Spencer Cook (Michaela), Trevor Cook (Jenny), Devin Trevino (Dei), Taryn Odom (Matthew Reichard), her brothers in law Harold Carter, Bruce Teel and Rick Teel, six great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents Betty and Ed Ruth, her first husband Jim Teel, and her sister Betty (Bitsy) Ruth Carter.
