

Ann Christine Edwards of Pipe Creek, Texas, a woman of great strength and unwavering love, passed away on March 7, 2025, at the age of 83. Ann was born in Tiffen, Ohio, on June 22, 1941, to Ralph Paul Shiflet and Madeline Shiflet. Ann dedicated her life to her family and all others in her life.
Ann’s life can be encapsulated by six words: family, home, birds, hunting, baseball, pies, and the San Antonio Spurs. Ann spent most of her life in San Antonio and then moved with her wonderful husband, Robert Lee Edwards and children to Pipe Creek, Texas, in 1967. After college, Ann worked as a legal assistant and then spent most of her career as an Administrative Assistant to the Head Nurse at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Ann leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her five 5 children and their spouses, Robert Edwards (Terri), Gary Edwards (Shelly), David Edwards (Bonnie), Paula Flach (Richard), and Jackie Ward (Charles); grandchildren, Lisa, Amy, Clayton, Jennifer, Abby, Zane, Austin, Lucas, Alexa, Garrett, Kodie, Dustyn, Maddie, and Mia; her brother, Billy Shiflet; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Ann was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and parents, Ralph and Madeline. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238. Family and Friends are able to gather to remember and celebrate Ann as early as 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78209, at 1:45 p.m.
