'I was another of Mrs. Nortons students - in 1972-4. Her classes were unbelievable. I missed making the murals but I had more unique, positive experiences in her classes than in any other classes Ive ever taken. I was searching for her on the internet and was saddened to find she had passed - but her legacy lives on!'

'Ms. Norton was my art teacher at Pat Neff Jr. High School in 7th & 8th grades, 1970-72.
I was thinking about her this morning and decided to try to see if her art work was noted on the internet somewhere. Sadly, this obit is what I found. 
Although I am late, I want to extend my condolences to her family. She was my favorite teacher. She gave me my educational foundation in art. 
She let me be one of her helpers at what she called her "first one-man art show." She gave me a small framed print that she also signed in thanks and as a memory of the event. I have attached a photo of that little print and a photo of us together at the show. 
I will always love her.

'Through her job as Pat Neff school librarian, my mother, Bo Green and Ann formed an enduring friendship. Their friendship enriched the lives of me and my siblings, Joe and Paula. I am very impressed with Ann's art, especially the magnificent hooked rug of a rising ocean wave she designed and executed! I keep her pen and ink Christmas cards, and continue to enjoy her seaside drawings which adorn our hallway. Ever helpful and enthused about other people's desires, Ann loaned me a huge travel trunk for the year I was studying in Europe! My family and I were fortunate to have Ann in our lives. 'Ann was one of my mother's best friends. Mother, Bo Green, and Ann taught together at Pat Neff. The friendship that started there in 1964 carried on until Bo's passing in 2005. Ann was not only a good friend, but also a mentor to my wife, Judy. Ann shared her lesson plans, ideas, and books to get Judy off to a good start as an art teacher. 'Dear Karla and Family - So sad to hear about your loss. I was one of your mother's students in 1967 and 1968. Every day it was my privilege to come to school early to make the paste that held tiles to the kraft paper backing of the murals. Of course, it was a joy to work on any aspect of the murals, but I was very proud to put together the face of the longhorn (Even went to UT later. A coincidence? I don't think so.) Your mom was an inspiration to all. Many years after graduation, I came back to San Antonio and met with your mom to tell her what an impact she had on my life. She deserves all accolades that many have expressed. We all miss her.'
