A lifelong Texas resident, she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin and was a champion youth tennis player winning countless tournaments. She later attended Trinity University in San Antonio where she was a Chi Beta Epsilon and really began to hone her lifelong passion for art and literature.
A voracious reader, you could always find a book in her hand while next to her a large stack of more containing bookmarks vied for her undivided attention. Ann never met a stranger and was known for her enthralling storytelling and her infectious and boisterous laugh. She was passionate about supporting artists, the arts, and museums. Ann adored animals and she had a great compassion for supporting childrens art and literature development.
Ann loved her children dearly and found true joy at the birth of her grandchildren.
Ann is predeceased by her mother "Miss Ninny" Ann Tobin Rowland, her father Jack Bradshaw, her aunt Jane Riley Bowers, her grandmother Ethel Tobin Greenwald, and her grandfather Col Lowell Meeker Riley.
She is survived by her children Josephine Tobin Cothren and Walter Anthony Maessen III, and her grandchildren; Macon Tobin Cothren, John Edgar Tobin Cothren, Juliana Maessen, and Aiden Joseph Maessen.
