Anne was born on August 2, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to immigrant parents Rebecca and Max Wolf. The youngest of 5 siblings they lived in tenement apartments during the depression always within walking distance to an Orthodox Jewish Temple so Max could walk there on Saturdays. As a young adult she mastered the art of typing and worked as a secretary at Crown Publishers where she began her own writing career.
Anne married the love of her life Wilbur Getter in Yonkers, NY on Feb.13,1949. They lived in Brooklyn together briefly in Will’s step mother’s apartment until they moved to New Jersey and had their two daughters Robin (1954) & Jane (1956). Her husband teamed up with cousin Samuel Herzog and successfully developed multiple housing neighborhoods for the growing suburban population. Being the exemplary housewife and mother, Anne loved cooking, was President of the school Parent Teachers Association and listened to Frank Sinatra recordings all day long!
After her third child Michael was born in 1968, she went to work again with various jobs and Party Planning companies. In 1994 her one & only grandson was born to Jane & husband Adam Holzman whom she loved very much.
In the 80’s she & Will moved to a retirement community in Concordia, Monroe Township, NJ where she initiated a creative writing group and wrote many fascinating stories about her past. They played a lot of Bridge and hung out at the pool in the summer and ski resorts in the winter! Sadly, Will passed away in 2001.
In 2017 the kids moved Anne close to Robin into a retirement community in San Antonio, Texas where she thrived dancing at Happy Hours, playing Bingo and enjoying the City with Robin and her new family there.
